When I get in touch with businesses, or they get in touch with me, I often offer a short brand review: a senior, outside perspective on where a brand is working and where it could work harder.
It is a fair question to ask what that actually involves, and whether there is a catch. So here is exactly how it works.
What It Is
A brand review is a focused look at how your business presents itself to customers today. I review it through the lens of a Creative Director with more than 15 years in FMCG, packaging and digital: clarity, consistency, credibility and commercial effectiveness.
It is not a pitch deck in disguise, and you do not need to prepare anything.
What I Look At
Depending on your business, I typically review:
Your website: how quickly it explains what you do, how easy it is to take the next step, and how it works on a phone.
Your packaging or product presentation: clarity, hierarchy, range consistency and shelf or screen impact.
Your visual identity and tone of voice: whether they are consistent and distinctive, and whether they suit the customers you want.
Your social presence and key marketing materials: how well they reflect the same brand.
What You Receive
A 30-minute video call to walk through the findings, covering:
Two or three things your brand is doing well, so you know what to protect.
Two or three specific opportunities, ranked by likely commercial impact.
Practical next steps that you could act on yourself, with your current team or suppliers.
The aim is that you come away with something useful, whether or not we ever work together.
What It Isn't
It isn't a hard sell. If your brand is in good shape, I will tell you.
It isn't a full brand audit. A detailed audit, with stakeholder interviews, customer research and competitor analysis, is a separate piece of work, for businesses that need it.
It isn't criticism for its own sake. Every observation comes with a reason and a suggestion.
Who It's For
The review is most useful for founder-led businesses and growing brands without an in-house design or marketing lead, especially those preparing for growth, a new product launch, a website redesign or a rebrand.
How to Request One
Simply get in touch through the website or email andreribeiro@aprdesign.co.uk with your business name and website, and tell me what you would most like a second opinion on.
